The "Seven Sisters" Walk

Exceat/East Dean/Beachy Head. 8 mls. linear

Public transport took us from Eastbourne to our start point at Exceat with East Dean providing a very convenient lunch stop at 4 miles. Fine weather and fine views were enjoyed by a very tired but satisfied group on our eventual arrival at Beachy Head.

Alfriston walk.

East Dean/West Dean/Litlington/Alfriston/Exceat 7.8 mls. linear

Public transport was required to take us to our start point at Friston Pond. The walk then proceeded thro' Friston Forest and on to the pretty hamlet of West Dean. On the steep uphill approach to Litlington the group enjoyed a fine view of the "White Horse" across the Cuckmere valley to our left. Litlington to Alfriston became easy walking and following lunch a leisurely stroll took the group along the Cuckmere river and our connection with public transport at Exceat.
